Re: Editorial Policy

Editorial Policy

This page documents how casino reviews on HighRollerCasino.guide are written, fact-checked, corrected, and kept current. The policy is published so a reader can hold the site accountable to a written standard rather than a promise.

How a review gets written.

Every review on this site goes through the same five-step workflow before publication.

1. Research.

We read the operator's terms verbatim, save a dated snapshot of the page, and cross-check the licence number against the regulator's public registry. Reputation aggregates (Trustpilot, Casino Guru, AskGamblers) are read for context, not citation.

.

2. First-hand test.

We open a real account, fund a real deposit, complete a gameplay session, trigger KYC verification, and request a cashout. Every step is logged with timestamps in an internal session journal.

.

3. Fact-check.

Every number and licence claim in the draft is reconciled against the trust-file at data/casinos/<slug>.json. If a value doesn't match, the value isn't published. Licence numbers are verified against the regulator's registry, not the operator's footer.

.

4. Publish.

The review goes live with an author byline, a date_modified timestamp in the JSON-LD, a breadcrumb chain, and footer links to the methodology, the advertising disclosure, and the responsible gambling page.

.

5. Monitor.

Every cited source URL is re-checked on a 90-day refresh cycle. If a source returns 404 or the underlying fact has changed, the review is updated within seven business days and a correction note is appended.

.
.

Corrections.

We classify changes into three categories.

Material correction.

A numerical fact, licence claim, withdrawal limit, bonus condition, or country-restriction list. Issued within 48 hours of the error being identified. A dated correction note is appended to the page footer with the field that changed and the source for the new value.

.

Editorial clarification.

Ambiguous wording fixed without changing the underlying fact. Issued within seven business days and logged in the page's edit history.

.
.

Typos and formatting fixes are silent copy-edits and aren't classified as corrections. When the line between a clarification and a copy-edit is unclear, the change is logged as a clarification by default.

Sources.

Every numerical, licence, or operator-specific claim cites a primary source. The rules below define what counts.

Primary sources we cite.

  • Operator terms, with the URL and capture date in the trust-file.
  • Regulator registries (Curaçao GCB, Anjouan ALSI, Tobique GC, and equivalents).
  • First-hand session notes from the editor's review journal.
  • The internal affiliate-links registry for partner promo codes.
.

Not accepted as primary.

  • Aggregator sites that don't link to operator terms.
  • Operator press releases (context only, never numbers).
  • Social media posts (Twitter, Reddit, Telegram - context only).
  • AI-generated summaries from Google AI Overview, ChatGPT, Perplexity.
.
.

Independence.

The single contractual commitment on this page is the one I'll sign for:

The score for any reviewed casino is the same whether that operator pays the site a commission or not. The editorial policy and the our scoring method run independently of the affiliate revenue stream.

.

Operator account managers may submit factual corrections through the same workflow as readers. They may not request score adjustments, rewrites of negative passages, or favourable framing in exchange for higher commission. If those conditions ever change for a specific brand, the affiliate row is removed from the advertising disclosure and the review is rewritten to reflect the new conflict.

The editor profile, the affiliate disclosure, the review methodology, and the responsible gambling page form the four supporting pieces that make this policy accountable to a real person with a documented track record. The author profile is at Karssen Avelar.
